Welcome to Julia's Jewels Rabbitry. I got my first rabbit as a
birthday present when I turned 11 years old. She was a Himalayan
named Staria. After she died, my mom found me a new rabbit that
was for sale for Easter. He was subsequently named Peanut Butter
and I fell in love. He was with me for almost 12 years.
After a few years of being involved with 4-H, I decided I wanted to have
a purebred rabbit. I fell in love with the American Fuzzy Lop
breed. My first fuzzy was Butterscotch. She grew to weigh 5
lbs and had a hairy coat, but I loved her. As time went on I
bought and bred more fuzzies and then as I helped my friend with her
rabbits I fell in love with my second breed: Rhinelander.
In 2006, I was 24 and had been a rabbit owner for almost 13 years. I was
starting my first year as a Masters student and I remembered how hard it
was to maintain rabbits through college. So I sold all of my stock
except for few that I kept around so I could have an animal to show and
the pets. I graduate May 15, 2009, and I am very excited. I
have a plan for a building that will house my new stock of Fuzzy Lops,
Rhinelanders, and a new breed: the Thrianta.
Please take a look around and enjoy!
